Two of the characters in the new Transformers 2: Revenge of the Fallen are catching a lot of attention lately. And it is not because of their sweet, over the top, vehicle to machine transformations. It is because… they are black (even though they are orange and green).
Critics are arguing that the creators of Transformers are racist because the two Autobots encompass traits that are stereotypical of people of color. In other words, because the twin Autobots can’t read, talk in slang, and have gold teeth, they aren’t white.
Can you believe it? Now we are even believing in stereotypes when the involved are fictional, alien, car-to-machine transforming, digital images! Ridiculous.
